The Youth for Climate Adaptation Conference will be streamed live on 22 January
At the Youth for Climate Adaptation Conference (Friday 22 January 14.15 - 15.15 hrs (CET)), young people from around the world will gather to deliver a Global Youth Call to Action on Adaptation to high-level decision makers including Ex United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and Ms. Cora van Nieuwenhuizen – Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management, the Netherlands.
The Call to Action has been co-designed by the Youth Adaptation Network through 15 global and regional virtual consultations with over 1 million young people from 115 countries across the world. The consultations have gathered the inputs of young people in every region on existing gaps and actions needed to empower the next generation of adaptation leaders and to accelerate adaptation action globally. The implementation of the Global Youth Call to Action will be a foundation towards making young people central to global adaptation action.
The event will feature an intergenerational dialogue with decision-makers and diverse young leaders to discuss the steps needed to implement the Global Youth Call to Action on Adaptation. The outcomes of this event will be presented at the Climate Adaptation Summit and will support the launch of the Adaptation Action Agenda.
This event will be streamed live: all interested stakeholders can watch the live stream on 22 January.
